Welcome to my Yumeshipping shrine! This place is where you will hear me talk about a lot of the fictional girlfriends I find romantically attractive but you will also find a lot of platonic / familial selfshipping here as well!
Let me explain: Have you ever loved a fictional character so much that you don't just have an appreciation for them, you have found yourself thinking about them in every waking moment of your life? You couldn't imagine life without you and them? And it's to the point where you're imagining cute little scenarios between you and them like going on trips, playing around together, or even imagining yourself and them as part of a family whether it be romantic, platonic, or familial? This is where yumeshipping comes into play.
Yumeshipping (or sometimes known as selfshipping) is a common fandom practice where one ships themselves with a fictional character that they really do enjoy; it can be romantic, platonic, familial, or even on the level as arch-enemies. The dyanmics you can have in shipping yourself with a character is bascially the equivalent of putting yourself into the world that very character is in.
You can absolutely ship with mutliple characters at the same time! It doesn't have to be limited to just one for yourself.
Some people do have rules or boundaries for themselves where they only ship with one character and one character only, though, and there is nothing wrong with that at all. It's just how some people are!
Speaking of boundaries, there are also some people who do not like
sharing their yumeship with other people due to multiple reasons
such as sentimentality, comfort / safety, mental health, and so
on.
They are often known as 'non-sharing' and they're
totally allowed to have such boundaries when it comes to
yumeshipping as a whole.
For others, yumeshipping is a form of expressing yourself and being creative with your love for a fictional character that you've found yourself crushing on. And for the other half of the spectrum, yumeshipping is a form of coping that helps them get through their daily lives and offer them a form of comfort that is truly unique to their emotional needs.
As for myself, yumeshipping, to me at least, is a way for me to have my own fun and follow by my own rules while also allowing me to express myself through my love for my fictional others (or F/Os) by allowing them to go through the struggles that I've also gone through so we can both heal together as one or it'll be just as simple as making myself less lonely by imagining my F/Os here beside me!
In short, there really is no wrong way to enjoy yumeshipping and you are allowed to do as you please as long as it is hurting nobody and more importantly, you are safe and happy while doing it. I hope you can enjoy my fun shrine dedicated to my history and my experiences with yumeshipping, as well as sightsee the many shrines I have dedicated to my F/Os.
