What is My Little Pony exactly?

My Little Pony is a toy franchise produced by Hasbro in the early 80s and is known for its colorful selection of characters. Although it focuses mainly on the younger female demographic, the toyline and its many television/theatrical adaptations have captured the hearts of many and many more soon to come.

The franchise centers around small, magical horses known as 'ponies' that have a special mark centered on their flank that relates to their personality or name. In later generations, these symbols would be known as cutie marks!
The ponies can come in the form of pegasi, unicorns, seaponies (like seahorses but cuter) and sometimes... not even ponies at all! They can also appear as dragons, pixies, gryphons, and many more fantastical species in the world of My Little Pony.

So far, the franchise itself has 5 reboots (or generations by fans) to keep up with the modern times as well as adapt to newer concepts that fall into the themes of fantasy, magic, and valuable life lessons pertaining to friendship and love for one's self and others. And since its notable fame back in the 80s up into today, they have become a nostalgic hit for those who fondly grew up with the series or even those who are just starting out with Generation 5.
